OUR STORY

Formerly known as The East Herts West Essex village business links, EHWEVBL (in short) was founded in April 2016. Having worked for DHL International UK Ltd, I had an idea to make a local online business directory, sharing to the community the businesses available that didn't have a high street presence.

After launching a Facebook group where people could access this information, I was approached about launching a network group to support these businesses.

Along with a small admin team, hand picked and made up of local entrepreneurs, we launched EHWEVBL and haven't looked back since.

6 years later in 2022, realising the group had already expanded their reach into local towns, with a couple of admin changes and a fresh input to Networking, EHWEVBL relaunched as Town & Village Connections.

Friendships build trust

the benefits of networking

One of the most powerful business tools entrepreneurs can have is the support that business networking provides. Skilled individuals with extensive knowledge honed over many years. Whether you are a start-up or you have been trading for years, being able to seek advice from successful entrepreneurs is key. Here are some of the benefits

Raise your business profile

Regular networking creates value in your network group. Building your knowledge and skills. The more value in the group, the more members will join giving you a stronger and larger business circle.

Strengthen business connections

Networking is about what you put in more than what you take out. It's about sharing. What can you do to help the next budding entrepreneur and their start-up business?. In turn this builds trust for your business, and trust sells.

Fresh business

input

Members  bounce around new ideas all the time.  Getting a different perspective is a fantastic and highly valuable tool. Networking can help test those ideas before you trial with the public. Keeping your costs down and your business reputation intact.

access opportunities

Widening your contacts can open doors to new business opportunities. When job opportunities come about, you will likely be at the forefront in the mind of others through your regular attendance to meetings. Without pressure to refer at Town & Village Connections.

Expand your

skills

New developments and learning are regular topics at network meetings and although you wouldn't think of networking as an opportunity to learn new skills. Its the ideal place to decide what skills to develop. Chances are any business question you seek an answer to, someone in your connections will have the answer. Regular presentations give you an insight into subjects you may not have considered you need to know.

Build your Brand. build you confidence

When I say build your brand, that starts with you. You are your brand, not just your logo and font. Networking can often put people outside of their comfort zone. Being able to gain self-confidence through networking will help you develop your own social skills, therefore strengthen the key part of your brand.

OUR FEES

We charge just £15 per year. T&VC just need to cover the cost of hosting websites, printing and emails with a small amount of admin.
We meet monthly on the third Thursday evening over a beer or a glass of wine between 5:30pm and 8pm. So the only money you might need is your drinking budget.
